Exercise 7 - advertisement

 


The advertisement contains a woman, sitting in some type of arena on the floor with her legs spread out wide. She is showing her crotch towards a bull. We just see the top of his head and his two horns. In a horizontal line there is the brands name Sisley written out widely. 

The woman is styled in a way so that she appears sexy in a very normative way with her make up, the pink stockings and a red dress. She also poses in provocative way, which gives the impression that she lustern for sex. She is looking at a bull, which whom we – the audience – almost share our perspective. The woman wants to attract, seduce, have sex with the bull.


Premise: Women are craving men. Women want to seduce men. They need to look very sexy to do that. Men are like animals – if women do a good job at looking sexy, men can’t help themselves but give in. 

The product, which are the clothes, help women to look sexy.

Exercise 30 - A Review

Exercise 30   Attend a music or dance performance. Take notes as it takes place (beware of scratchy pens!). Do not use a digital recording; be present. Write a review of the event.   How does your note-taking affect your description? How does your experience reflect on the quality of the event and its ability to communicate?   Review On the 18th of July I visited the event “poetry meets soul” which took place at Haus der Kulturen der Welt as part of the series 21 Sunsets . The event took place at the roof terrace which actually lend the sunset it’s moment. With a mild breeze from the leaves in the trees to everybody’s ankles the evening was indeed about poetry.
